View Full Version : Model Bomb Flag (for Invade CTF)

A very quick reskin of the default (separate) payload bomb, scaled down for using in a Invade CTF map. (This is the same one I'm using in CTF Summit (http://forums.tf2maps.net/showthread.php?t=11949))

Because you can't blow up a base with a briefcase full of papers :P.

Note: I am by no means an advanced modeler and have no idea on how to animate this to spin. A possible workaround is to parent the flag to a momentary_rot_button (see here (http://forums.tf2maps.net/showthread.php?t=4107)).

Oh yea, and if reskinned valve models aren't allowed then please close this thread.

I would suggest rotating it 90 degrees when it's being carried but I don't know how that's done.

If I'm not mistaken the flag spin animation is defined in the .qc file before compile. Try decompiling the valve one and you should see the command in the resulting qc file.

It's scaled down slightly from the original bomb. Is it still too big?

It looks ridiculous, no one would wear that on their back, not even in tf2.

Make a new bomb model that actually looks like it would be strapped to someone's back, or at the very least model something to attach that to someones back in a believable way.

I still prefer full size (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v401/aboojumsnark/maps/abs_frogtest0010.jpg) for funnys :P oh how long it's been since I did that back before all this fancy valve support.

Anyway, Furex has something like this in his map (http://forums.tf2maps.net/showthread.php?t=8519) so you might inquire to him about getting/using it or if he already posted it somewhere.

I can see that clipping into everybody's arms. And the rocket launcher will be sticking through it a LOT.

Im gona make a quick reskin of the breifcase to make it into a time-bomb looking thingy for my map. It'l be released here whenever I get a chance :P.
