Currently the Steam group has 229 members, while the active membership here is 313/763. Fact is, we have evolved as a community. Though I doubt anyone could really be confused by the different names, it would certainly help to make things more tidy. The front page link reads 'tf2maps.net Steam chat', and that's probly where it should redirect. It would definitely help w/ creation of future decals/posters for the game. So what do you all think?

I agree. I've always thought it odd that the Steam Group was called "Team Fortress 2 Mappers (TF2M)". Before I first joined I thought it was a different group. Renaming it to match the website is a natural fit.

I dont believe you can change the goups name, however, I am reasonably sure you can change the group chats title.

*edit* Well, maybe you cant change the name of the Group chat either... I seem to recall seeing several feature requests on the Steam Community forums for this though

Well, if worse comes to worse, we can just start a new group. When the only thing on it's front page is 'we have moved here', shouldn't have any trouble.

I am more of the opinion that if its only the name that you want to change then it might not be worth it. As it stands now its pretty clear that we are a mapping group and if the name does not match exactly then its not that big of a deal.

It would just be a hassle to get everyone to move to a new group just so we can make the name different.
