Post title ranks?

Who wants em? Currently there is only 3 user post titles. registered, junior member and senior member. This is a list i made up, feel free to add your own, we can use all the opinions we can get, please guys, give some feedback as you will have these titles at post count levels. Anyways, onward with the silliness.

I think if anyone reaches L19 they need to get out of the house.

ALso, L18 and L19 overlap.... so do 13 and 14... 14 and 15... 15 and 16.

Nope, we definatly need ranks after that, however, I feel that the ranks should be normalised slightly, for example: I have one of the highest post counts and I doubt be passing L8 any time this centuary.

Edit: Just realised I'm already on L6 and well on my way to L7, its L10 where the gaps become rather large, but thats alright I guess

The point isn't to make them all necessarily obtainable, at least right now. What we do want is a title for if and when someone gets there.

Reason the gaps start getting large is because if your rank title changed every 50 posts it wouldn't be as rewarding.

:S you've got too much time on your hands to be working stuff like that out. thats 4 years, almost exactly! thats almost long enough for valve to make TF3 - or put another way, I'll be 20! (I'm 16 now)

Edit: how did you work this out? I got 1670 days... which is nearly a whole year extra

you avg 7 posts a day.

currently there you had around 640 posts.

11000 - 640 = 10360

10360 /7 = 1480

Yaa. it didnt turn out the way i wanted.

I like the title's so they will stay the say. same as the post requirements.

What i don't like is the "L#: Title" I feel the L# is out of place.

I'm sure in time I'll change it to a graphic and work it in, however i really dont want to clutter and overuse the graphics as the site skin is a great, simple, clean skin. With that no matter how quality the graphics you use it will still clutter it up, so i gotta hti the board with this again =/

Some titles seem backwards, like respected expert being less than resident expert. and guru should top them both.

Well I think my original point that the highest few are too high holds true, I'm going at a terrible rate of 7.27 posts per day and thats going to take me nearly 4 years to reach the top level.... will we still be playing TF2 by then? even if TF2 is still going strong I highly doubt that me and my intensive mapping will be which means I'll probably stop short of highest by several thousand.
I don't to sound arrogant or anything but if I'm not going to be able to reach anywhere near the highest level, no one is.

I don't think the ceiling needs to be that high that it takes anything over a year to get the top rank...
If a person posts 10 posts a day for over a year on a mapping community site, that most people would believe he knows a thing or two about mapping and should probably have a high/highest rank.
Having unrealistically high post requirements only encourages unrealistically high amounts of posting, which will lead to people who answer "lol" to every post they see rating "guru" titles...
Also, Youme will never get the top rank... as long as he holds the "Official
TF2Maps.net Reviewer" Title :P

My Idea, and if possible every time a post is useful enough to be "thanked" it should be worth 10 towards your post count, but i doubt that change would be easy.
(and yes, I do realize that would do me NO benefit :P )

How is that any different than just plain spamming? Both are obvious. I agree with the thanks thing though, I think they should have more weight than posts with the kind of titles in the bucket (posting a lot doesn't make you a guru, posting stuff you get thanked for means you know stuff and makes you a guru).
However, I don't really care much about it at all, and hardly ever look at all the little words near someone's avatar.

Doubt it, its easy to spot who thanks who and anyone could see there is some weird guy who seems to be stalker-ish-ly in love with someone else, and ban the stalker for the protection of the OP.
