Well, I am just going to list the basics here, but personally I really like CTF maps.

Can't stand CTF. can't really say I like the TC put in place with Hydro as a template.
Never played hunted/goldrush/escort but I don't like the idea of it, however I'm looking forward to trying it out and I'm sure I will sway and love it once gold rush is out

Yeah, everyone seems to be making CP or TC maps... I started off hating a lot of the current CTF maps, but the more I have played a couple they have grown on me.
Not to knock Buster_Charlie but when unless you have at LEAST 12v12 on Badlands Classic it just seems empty, I would love to play it with 16v16.
Another map that i will probably be smacked for liking is Funhouse. Its not the best looking map, and in fact some areas of it are downright annoying but its grown on me.

Ryo! for shame!
we need to get you into mapping bud, so you can make a good CTF map. seems like everyone stays away from them ='(
I should turn my map into a ctf, not sure how well that will work though.

I can't really vote, because CP falls into two categories: push vs push, and attack/defend. I hate the former, but the latter is my favorite. CTF would be a not-too-far-off second.

Really? I thought I was the only one making a TC map :p
Like Shmitz, I like the attack/defend CP maps (like Dustbowl). But I'm not voting, because that gameplay type either isn't specified, or it's coupled with a gameplay type I don't like.

I like dustbowl style, not just general CP but how dustbowl handles it.
I dislike CTF because whenever i play a map its just a giant stalemate of a game that never progresses. Like whenever i randomly play 2fort, people have been sitting there in one spot for hours playing an engineer and its 0-0 and noone is doing anything productive.
Whereas with Cp you atleast get uber pushes and stuff taking caps where in CTf they may take one sentry but around the corner are 7 more. CTf is way too slow of gameplay. And the people playing those maps are way too content on not actually playing the game but just sitting around doing nothing.

You do realize the Uber pushes is exactly how you win CTF also? If anything CTF is easier to win by a breakthrough than CP maps. All you need is for one person to survive the attack and get back out. The problem with CTF is that it requires a little more teamwork. With CP maps there is only one objective really which bores me. You are either always attacking or always defending.
With a CTF map you need to balance your attacking force with your defense force. If you are an engineer (which I love to play) you need to balance the risk of setting up a sentry in a high traffic area vs. the risk of having the enemy get into your base and grab your intel. You need to balance the risk of leaving your sentry to go plant a teleporter.
In CP maps there is no real balancing act, its always push, push, push and I get bored with that. Which is what makes TF2 such an awesome game, there are so many different ways to play it and no one "correct" method.
*edit* bah, now I want to go play some CTF maps and i was just going to get started in hammer. Hammer can wait.

Guess I just need to play CTF with some non retarded people. :(
Shame how hard those are to come by.

thats why i dont have 2fort in my rotation, its not that its a bad map in any shape or form, it just dosent work on a public server 90% of the time, the few people that are trying to actually play ctf just get bogged down in a deathmatch stalemate, with maps like dustbowl and gravel pit even if you play like its team deathmatch you will pretty much be contributing to advancing to the point.
A good game of ctf can be totally awesome in tf2, unfortanely the times you get that game on a public is much lower than a decent dustbowl game.
Unfortunately i think tf2 has been dumbed down a little too much, a good scout in tfc could do amazing flag runs using concs and the learning cuve from being an average fps player to an amazing scout was high. I'm not asking for grenades back :D but i would love for their to be more nuances of the game to learn and improve on.

I think taking CTF out of the rotation is going a bit far. Its still fun even if it goes to a stalemate. Really its not THAT hard to get to the intel, especially if you have 2 people work together.
Medic + Pyro on 2Fort is ridiculous. The medic ubers the pyro and you just run up to the sentries and fry the engineer+sentry in one shot. Or a Spy + Scout works great. Spy goes in saps the sentry, Scout runs in immediately grabs the intel while the spy keeps the engineer busy.
Use voice chat to organize people on a public server and it all works out pretty well.
Also there are all the different forms of CTF which have yet to really be explored, like "Take your flag to enemy Base" aka reverse CTF or a couple others that I cant think of now because I have not had my coffee.

I love CP dustbowl-like, and I love gravelpit too. But I hate Well and granary.

Avantiville (to be renamed) will be reverse ctf... which will capture the best of both worlds of cp and ctf. I dont know why this game mode is so neglected. Ive even seen a few avanti remakes that don't use it.
I voted CP, I like both game modes (thinking dustbowl and badlands). I dont like ctf in TF2 because it's hard to get pubbers to use coordinated teamwork. When our server is full of regs that work together, ctf maps are better.

I personally don't like how there was one ctf map at launch, 2fort, they should have made a reversed ctf or attacker/defender ctf map aswell, I personally think Granary would work well as attacker/defender ctf, hope they consider it when they try to remake granary (http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=659920&highlight=email+walker+granary).
Also, I don't often like wellnary cp_, I do prefer gravelpit style to all others, although stage style is a close-second place.
CTF is better... although the CP maps are a refreshing change to the TF world.
2 Fort is not the best CTF map, it is a turtling map. As alluded to, must have a well organized attack to break a defense of 3 to 4 sentries. I have seen a version of 2 fort (different game) where another entry point into the flag room was made... that made it harder to defend and opened game play up a touch.
I am going to convert some of the Weapons Factory maps into TF2 maps. There are some open CTF maps in that collection.
