Could we not have Tutorials/WIP/etc as a subforum of "Mapping Discussion"? Adding extra clicks = not user friendly, especially since it's been the old way forever.

in my opinion, have too many forums on the forum main page can be a little overwhelming.
right now its:
-TF2 General Mapping Discussion
--Mapping Discussion
----WIP
----Tutorials
----Contest
--Server Discussion
--Steam Group
I think it works best like this to avoid user confusion.
Buf if you have any suggestions that would improve on that, i would certainly be interested in knowing. :)

I agree about having too many forums, but at the same time if we direct players to come here to post feedback in the WIP threads, the WIP forum should be easy to find.

I'd say put Tutorials and WIP on the front page, and maybe embed the Steam Group and Contest forums into Mapping Discussion.

The Contest forum I say definitely should stick in Mapping Discussion, but the Steam Group I think maybe should go under General TF2 if you are going to sub-forum it.

In vB you can optionally have the sub forums listed with the forum on the main list. Random example from a Google search displays vB using this setup: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/ Might be a nice middle ground to limiting clicks and keeping things organized.

One more thing about the WIP forum, the default sorting seems to be off. At least for me, every time I click a link to go there it gives me Last Day, Ascending by Title, even if I've changed it manually the previous time.

Um, guys, where'd all the old WIP threads go? I can still visit mine but there're only like 6 or 7 on the WIP page with no option to go back a page...

Did you try adjusting the date range of visible threads? Its on the bottom of the page
Under "Display Options" there is "Sorted By" "Sort Order" "From The..."

if your looking to cull the number of forums visible on the main forum page , i'd suggest pooling all the downloads forums into subforums and placing them in 1 single "downloads forum"
