One of my favorite maps when I played Unreal tournament was CTF-Lucius. This map was often used for wars and was always guaranteed for heavy action.
Because I like this map so much I wanted to get it into TF2.
In this map the 2 bases are connected by a low gravity room where you have to jump trough, falling down will kill you.
I've been working on it for about 2 weeks now i think, and it's fully playble atm, just some minor things should be changed. The bottom of the low gravity pit should be darker so you can't see anything there, and the sky could do better too. Need to change something about the props, these have been thrown in in order to upload but aren't satisfying me.

I'm not a huge fan of strong COLORED LIGHTING, and it's a bit boxy but I'm guessing you will add more details later on.

Wow thanks for running it on a server.
More details are always possible, in the original map were a lot of horizontal and 45° angled pillars on the ceiling, i might add some of those lateron. The Red and blue lights on the entrance can also be changed if many people don't like it, It was jsut a quick and nasty way to show the teamcolors on each base :p
edit: @ feelgood Can I ask you wich server that is? so maybe I can join :)

I've added some details and fixed some minor bugs like the resup props wich didn't open the doors and changed a few textures. download version 54 here (http://users.pandora.be/VLokkY/Solfur/lucius/ctf_lucius54.rar)
I'll join the server in a few moments to see how it plays, got a high ping on it because I'm in Europe, but it's playble :)
Colored lights tend to mask what team a player is on so I'd recommend toning them way down and/or removing them.

I was already planning to change that actually so I'll fix it in the next version.
any other suggestions?
are there enough health and ammopacks? Should I add more props/details on a boring wall? Some texture wich u don't really like maybe?

I was thinking about building some sort of small balconey/bridge on the sides of the pit at the lower entrances so you can walk around the rocket instead of jumping over it, Do you guys think this would be a good idea or rather stick to the original concept?
One more question: Does anyone know how to make the dense smoke at the bottom of the pit? When I try to get it denser it seems to crash the whole game :x The only thing I get to work is this stupid cigarettesmoke :p
I also tried to dim the lights a bit but I can't get it dark enough downthere without making it too dark at the playable area's
Or is there anything else I could do to get it dark downthere?
ps: got another project upcoming, some sort of D-day map, I'll post it in a few days so keep your eyes open ;)

I'm not much of a fan of the latest update, what happened to the gravity room? I ran it on my 32 slot server and it seemed whoever gets to the middle first wins

so yes it's the same, was a bit late to post it here due to xmas stuff.
The lowgravity part is out because it didn't work the way it should. Heavy could get just fine to the opposite side but a scout jumped against the wall and had to wait several seconds to get down.

- various texture alignments and fixes
- added a working roundtimer
- fixed a possible exploit using the lowgravitypad
- done some optimalisation by placing hints and making more brushes func_detail
- added a playerclip to prevent players from blocking the elevator
