RULES
The server isn't big on rules. The first rule is don't be a dick. This generally entails not stealing from other's chests, not removing other's blocks, etc. It also means not getting in the way of other's projects, being reasonable when conversing with others, etc. Then, we ask you not to cheat or duplicate through any manner of Notch bugs/exploits. It's no fun for other players.

In list format:

Don't Cheat/Duplicate or Exploit
Follow Common Guidelines


COMMON GUIDELINES

Box-houses are not tolerated.*[/b]
If you cut down trees, cut them all the way down. Leaving floating tree trunks is bad.
Be considerate of your neighbors. This means no gigantic stone castle next to someone's wooden house, unless they ok it.
Clean up after creeper explosions, etc. It's no fun to have to walk around the crater later.
Do not leave block-pillars (pillars that go into the sky) around.
If you are going to build a 'sky' object, it needs to be believable. No floating castles without some believable amount of land!


* Especially not in/near towns. If you wish to make an outpost or holding zone temporarily to store supplies/etc, please consider digging into a cliff-side, or the ground and placing a door and/or torch to mark it's location. I understand one does not always want to build a full-featured building, but I urge you to cut inside the wall and leave less of a visual impact than to leave a ugly garnished world.

Repeated failure to follow these guidelines will result in something. I'd hope to never have to come to this but you never know.

I looked into a web-administration panel (Which would allow a second admin who could restart the server, etc.) and it's free up to 8 users, or one time purchase of $15 afterwards.

As we are averaging 6 players and spiking up to 20 when something of interest is found/done/made, I believe it would be beneficial to buy the full version. However, I don't have money because I am a broke college student. If anyone is willing to donate anything, lemme know.

At this point, now that the software is stable, I don't know if it's necessary. I think we'll give it a test run before investing in it, we may discover that we don't need it at all.

I will not be rushed into 1.9 and as thus will not be updating the server right away, until things stabalize, notch releases another bugfix, etc.

Well hopefully 1.9 will be more stable as it's basically a hotfix for 1.8 because of its instability.

Any word on a world reset for 1.9? Been playing a little bit more on the server and wondering how much time to invest in questing for resources. I know we spoke in chat about it but it'll probably be beneficial for everyone else to understand where we stand on this subject. Otherwise you'll get the ye olde "OMG, nobody said that'd happen" complaints.

Are we going to wipe the server the instant 1.9 comes out or wait for the nessersary plugins to update first? I don't really want to have the server wipe on the day of release for 1.9, us all to pile in there for the first night in the new place and then have another rollback because you need to to install the 1000 block or whatever terrain limit plugin, that would be annoying.

I talked with matt a bunch one day, and the point of my discussion was: update the server immediately so we have any bugfixes/items and no conflicts if clients want to update, though since nobody plays anymore that hardly matters. Then when bukkit and all the plugins are ready then we could wipe.

The only reason for the wipe is because 1.9 is what 1.8 should have been. 1.8 is missing a ton of shit and is as unstable as a coffee table balanced ontop of 2 people trying to fuck on 1 leg.

Wiping isn't something Matt wants to make a habit of and we should have Big Brother for people who are impuslive enough to go around blowing each others houses up.

My vote (assuming this is a democracy) is to wait until the plugins are updated before the server wipe. Additionally, I would like to see us build a structured and not too over the top town as we initially planned before 1.8, because that would be nice.

Nobody knows because nobody knows about 1.9 first there were no release dates, then when there were, they kept changing.

Apparently MC is leaving beta soon but i havn't really been keeping track as much as i used to since... Skyrim.

I play over at PS now. No offence to the TF2m MC guys, but all the foriegn languages being spoken that i can't understand, coupled with the horrendous ping that make creepers 10x more deadly make it not so fun to play multiplayer.
