Just got the game, and so spent the better part of this afternoon & evening playing, and generally geeking it up. Munchkin, TF2, Bioshock, Deus Ex, more Munchkin. And Bioshock. Playing this all on my bigscreen :D So right now I'm typing this at 800x600, and it's a wonder I can see anything. Course it's also 24:47, and I'm dead tired. Anyways, just wanted to share, because I can. Geek party ftw!!!

Bioshock is an awesome narrative.

Gameplay could have used a little bit more polish, particularly combat. Maybe fewer and more various splicers, maybe more Big Daddies in more interesting locations. Better final boss fight for sure.

But as a narrative, man, it beats out a whole lot of literature I've read and a whole lot of classic films I've seen, and it's something I don't think would have worked in any other medium than a video game.

(Trying to keep my comments as spoiler-free as possible, since you didn't actually say you beat it. =P)

Yea, Bioshock is a great game. I'm in progress of playing through the game with just the wrench on Hard. Big Daddies are a pain in the arse in the first few levels...

The thing I love about the game is that it's the first game where I actually played through the storyline a second time because of the game's ability to always change things.

I've completed the game 4 times. This is the only game that made me do that ever. There are no words for it.

The creepy factor is awsome. I lost track of how many hours we wasted just b/c we wanted to try the fight a different way. The combat seems ok on normal difficulty, but the story telling really is top-notch. And the scenery of course, beyond description. We made our way into Neptune's Bounty, and my jaw dropped. And the best part, we haven't beaten it yet! Which basically gives us an excuse to do this again next weekend :D
