After months of preparation and hard work by our wonderful TF2Maps.net staff, we are proud to present our 2 new major features!
The Map Developer Blogs, and our Image Gallery.

First, lets take a look at the blogs.

http://dumpedimage.com/uploads/1/blogpreview.png

Here we have one of Mr. DJive's post. Will the full featured blog, you can post, edit, delete your content. Others will be able
to comment on what you write. We call it a map developer's blog, but it really can be about anything you want. (no hate, racial, or porn content please).

The blog is fully integrated with your TF2Maps.net login. The amount of blog entries you have will be added to your profile on your posts as you can see in this picture.

http://dumpedimage.com/uploads/1/blogentries.png (http://dumpedimage.com/)

Now, the image gallery. The galley allows you to make albums to store and unlimited amount of pictures for your forum use.
You can upload up to 5 images at a time, and add comments about your images.

There is no limit on how many images you can have per gallery*, but one thing we do not allow is anything that you would not want your boss looking at.
Another great gallery feature is that you can make your albums private. That means that nobody will view what you upload.

We will also be making a new 'VIP' forum for members who do decide to donate to the community. Oh, did i mention you get a cool looking tag under your name?

-----------------

If you have not noticed, the donation system has been taken offline for almost a month now. No, we didnt inherit bags of money nor did we win the lottery.
Since the removal of the donation system, many have been asking on how they can help support the site. Well, we will also be introducing a new system for this.

Supporter Subscriptions.

Members who wish to support the site, will have access to greater features as a thank you from us. This is the basic breakdown of what donating members will get
over regular members.

List of features available to regular members:

- 250x250 or 100kb profile picture
- 25pm inbox size

List of features available to premium members:

***As a thank you for continuing to support our growing community, we will be extending the premium features to all our registered members for one month. Try out the premium features, play with them, and if you don't feel like they are worth the extra $5, feel free not to extend your subscription. If you still want to donate and support the site, please accept these features as a thank you from us.***

We tried our best to not take features from our members, but to give something a little extra to those who do decide to support the site & server.
There are many costs associated with running TF2Maps.net and its server. So please, anything you can throw our way is greatly appreciated.

Thank you

-TF2Maps.net Staff

Great job - looks good. One thing I'm having a problem with - I started an album, uploaded one pic that's 62k and then 2nd pic (71k) got this error:
This picture exceeds your total album file size quota by 34.3 KB.
Is there a 100k total album limit?

thanks

(I changed the album to private until I can get it straight)

fixed. try it again and report back please :)

That did it. Thanks.

A couple of other things I noticed:
- The titles under each pic all read "Moderated"
- I don't see a way of making a picture the cover. I see a radio button that reads "Leave cover unchanged" when I click "Edit Picture" but there isn't another choice there.

hm, I just noticed this - on the "All Albums" page that has the list, it shows 0 pictures on my gallery and "None" for my "Last Picture". So maybe it's related to that - are they going into the wrong place maybe?

I don't have the radio buttons that read "This is the album cover".

(from your screenshot I can see why it reads 0 pictures in my gallery) - you have an "approve" checkbox :)

Firefox

when I close the tab and come back to the site using my shortcut button I'm logged in (http://tf2maps.net/) but as soon as I click the site logo, the albums button, the blogs button, any of the threads at the bottom of the main page it logs me out and requests that I log in again. The only link that doesnt seem to log me out is the new posts button.

we are having a 1 month run through with every single feature available without restrictions. doing this as a thank you to everyone who has helped the community grow.

moderators and reviewers pretty much have everything available to them too.

Yeah, that is the downside of the "log out Youme"-switch drpepper implemented. :P

BTW: I'm using Firefox too, but no complains here... (sorry Youme)

List of features available to regular members:
...
- download delay of 30 seconds per file

D:

Nooo! This is probably the most annoying thing about most file-hosting sites. Not the in-your-face ads, not the low bandwidth, but having to wait... and wait... and wait... JUST TO START DOWNLOADING THE FREAKING FILE!

And I'm not saying this because I'm a cheapskate, or don't want to support the site, because I will, even if I won't use all the extra features.

Sure, add lots of attractive features for premium members, but please don't make the site obnoxious for everyone else!

Edit: DJive clarified below that this is a delay between downloads, not before a download. In other words, a delay exactly like there is already! I've got no objections to that.

So cheers guys for all the hard work!

Yeah... have to say I second VelvetFistIronGlove on this one. I missed the discussion thread on this topic, but I have to say that a 30 second download delay is one of the MOST annoying things, you might as well link everyone to RapidShit.

DJive

I think you are all misunderstanding.

The download delay is to prevent people from downloading a lot of files AT ONCE.

This delay starts AFTER you start to download, unlike Rapidshare which as you wait BEFORE you can download..

tf2maps.net *click download, file starts to download and must wait 30 seconds before you can download again*
Rapidshare *you must wait 30 seconds to start the download, repeat*

honestly unless you have a T1-T2-T3 connection you wont be downloading 10mb maps in less then 15 seconds, so you wont even see the wait =)
