I cant really post my map since its still a WIP.
But if the reason you are interested in seeing the skybox is because you are unsure how to make one, all I did was follow a 3dskybox tutorial from the tut section.

give us a screenshots of your skybox viewed in hammer and we can maybe tell you what's wrong. I guess the silouette is caused by the fog settings in your sky_camera

what should the fog settings be on in a 2024x2048 square skybox? If the camera is roughly in the middle

depends on your decision if you want to have fog in your map. I would say leave it out for now and maybe add fog later to give the map more depth. Just set "Fog Enable" to "No", then compile and test if you still have those silouettes. Some good values for fog could be:
Fog Start: 8000
Fog End: 30000
but it really depends on how far you can see in the map and how it looks together with lighting. My oil rig map has open sea in it so I used 12000 and 50000 as values for the fog distance.

i know how to make a 3d skybox but even make a sample map with a 3d skybox so we can see what you did and possibly find the cause. and i don't know what fog settings have to do with it since that's not gonna cause your normal map to appear in your 3rd skybox. it will cause the silhouette obviously but if you had fog off it will show the actual brush details instead. or am i wrong in the way interpreted your question...?

You might have a leak and it looking at the playable game area. Make sure the 3D box is sealed and the playable area is sealed. Also make sure you have only one sky camera.
