My doors seem to change colors when I open and shut them. To a wierd glowish purple or blue. Once they fully close, they go back to metal texture. WTF?

I have a cube map in there so not sure why it's doing this.

could you post one or two screenshots, please?

If the doors are model or prop textured, this may happen.

If the doors are model or prop textured, this may happen.

This is more than likely the cause.

It's happened to me before with cubemaps built and everything. When they close it kind of fades from purple back to the regular color. It was a model door.

Yes, exactly, same exact thing. It's a model door, not a brush with texture. What did you do to fix it Vilepickle? Re-compile error maybe? The fade thing is really throwing me off. I could see if it was just a screwed color all the time but it starting out right and fading in and back out when closed is a trip.

I think it started to happen when I was changing options in the properties for the door model. Maybe there is a setting in there that got tweaked.

I didn't fix it, just changed them to brush doors.

I think it might happen when the door opens into a void area, but I'm not too sure.

I wanted to post here that I never could find there error that caused the doors to glow like they did. I tried everything I knew of and anything that people suggested. I was able to fix the problem though by removing the door models and all the door entities and made new ones. Now they are fine. Go figure.

It may have been a cubemap issue since sometimes they can cause reflective things to mess up.
