I found these on YouTube a while back (no, I didn't make these) and they were very helpful for a few things I couldn't understand when reading through the Dev Wiki. They're based around CS mapping, but most of the information covered is universal to mapping with Hammer.

I recorded my own video on how to make a simple box room. There's no voiceover, but it is however at full resolution, so you can actually see what's going on.

It's actually designed to accompany a massive written tutorial I'm in the process of creating.

If anyone's interested, I can upload it. Let me know if you know of any decent (preferably permanent) places I can store it. I'll then link it here, or in my own seperate thread if you don't want my stuff here!

There's a few tutorial websites I've run into that might provide near permanent storage, and there's also some file sharing sites like mediafire/rapidshare/megupload that retain the file as long as people are still downloading it. I don't have any of the links on me at the moment, I see if I can dig them up later.

Note that the video is actually a flash swf file embedded in a HTML page.
