How do I get hammer?

Hi. Title pretty much explains what I'm looking for ;). I assume it's in steam or something but I'm a newb and am frustrated by not being able to get it going. Any serious help would be greatly appreciated. I will pray that you win the lottery or something very soon!

in steam, hit the 'tools' tab

then open the 'source sdk' then in the green window that pops up select 'orange box' and 'team fortress 2' and then double click hammer

Then hit the thanks button rather than pray for a lottery win ;)
