Microphone issues

ok well ive got Sound Blaster X-fi soundcard
when i join tf2 my mic its sometimes fine, then after it reloads a map, all you can hear is a staticy noise you cant hear me at all but you can hear my tv which you normally cant in the background

any ideas?

are you plugging in the mic on your front panel inputs, or back?
what software are you using to manage the soundcard?

its not to do with the microphone not being plugged in properly, many people have this problem. just the soundbuggy x-fi xtreme audio software

yeah i dont have onboard sound, my mobo came with a free soundcard
