Hello, First time poster! Yay!

Anyway, Is there a way for me to create a shortcut on my desktop/quick start menu/wherever straight to hammer? I know Valve put up an answer in the developer pages, but it's really ambiguous and vague, and I can't follow it.

I'm a newb mapper for any game, and I'd like to start with TF2.

when you install "Source SDK" if should have put a shortcut to your desktop. AFAIK you always need to go through that first before getting to hammer.

IF for some reason it did not..

Right click your steam icon bottom right go to GAMES>TOOLS

"Source SDK" should be white meaning you installed it. Right lcick that and go to "Create Desktop Shortcut"

Tacking -runhammer on the end of the SDK shortcut target should do it, I used to use it for awhile. Though it's giving me some error right now... dunno if it's a problem on my end or not so give it a try.

Damn, ty very much for that Snark. I have problems with the SDK taking forever and lagging out my PC when I start it up. It'll be nice to skip that.
