I'm a complete noob and just started mapping about a week ago, and I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I want to put in two blue intel briefcases in my map as props. When I compile the map and run it, they're not there. I've searched the forums, and I'm sure this has come up before, but, please, throw me a bone.

To give you some context, they're in an inaccessible but visible area in the red team's base. Here's what it looks like in hammer:

I'd really like to get these in to give blue the iceburn they deserve :D .

BTW, my preferred resolution for playing is 1280x1024, but when I compile my map, it goes to 1024x768 and it looks horrible in comparison. Is there anything I can do?

change your video settings when you run tf2 through hammer ;)

They probably can't be compiled as static props. Try prop_dynamic and see where that gets you.

You've inspired me to create another thread: http://forums.tf2maps.net/showthread.php?t=3400

And make briefcase prop_dynamic_override.

EDIT: W00T 3400th thread!

thanks, making them prop_dynamic_override worked.

oh, and I figured out adding "-w 1280 -h 1024" to the additional game parameters box made tf2 run at my preferred resolution.
