In my new map I am getting one texture that is turning black. You cant see it in the screenshot, but its the only section on the wall that is black.

what do you think is the problem?

I have checked the compile logs, but nothing wrong shows up.
I put a light in-front of it, but it didn't help.
idk what else can be wrong.

Hi there.

There are a few posts in the stickys uptop which will help you out, one of which is one i think to be your problem. Model textures.

8. Model textures on brushes

The texture browser contains model textures that go on models as well as regular textures meant for brush work. There's no one to blame but Valve for this and they are working on a fix, but until then, make sure the textures you're using do not have "model" in there name; ie "models/props_mining/wood_beam03". Model textures will not look right in-game when used on brushwork, a tell tale sign of model textures on a brush is a brush face that will look fine from one angle, but become completely black when viewed from another.

I have encountered that problem before, but its not that. This texture is 'concrete/computerwall011' and is black from every angle, but I have more of the same texture that shows up fine.

Is your lightmap scale on that texture really high? Also try disabling shadows on the skylight props.

I figured it out.....
sadly I cannot currently remember how.
