cp_orange_xr1 (http://forums.tf2maps.net/downloads.php?do=file&id=701)

This is a remake of the quite popular orange map cp_orange_x4. It improves on the map in many ways.

Please note that I borrowed/ilegally stole a few of the ideas in this map from linux_lover's map cp_orange_viper, made for the Team Vipers clan. I hope he doesn't mind or hurt me.

Changelog (incomplete):
-Completely remade from the ground up, nothing is left from the original map.
-Spawn rooms can be entered from the outside without jumping off the stairs (there's no ramp anymore)
-Spawn rooms cannot be entered by the opposing team
-The walls outside bases are low enough to be jumped over easily (you could jump over them before if you had a lot of spare time)
-RED's side of the map is more distinct from the BLU side, and no longer uses a bunch of the same textures as the BLU side
-Fixed lighting errors on many of the RED textures (they would appear dark when far away and light up as you got closer)
-Ramps in and around the tower can be approached from all sides instead of just head on
-Players can no longer shoot through the walls on top of the tower thanks to the tower's new design

Known Bugs:
-The icons for the outposts show them as unlocked all the time when they are not. I tried to fix this but couldn't figure out what was wrong. Hopefully I can sort it out for xr2.

Why must you question when authority is excersized? Mods are here to deal with things so that they effect as few people as possible.

Just stay friendly and polite and your account will stay fully active.

/bumps thread back to the original topic.

Please do not recompile other people maps and ask cp_orange_x4 and cp_orange_viper authors about permission. I personally would ban this submission.

I do not question anyones authorithy damn it, don't take me asking for a ban reason as an insult. Except if that was some image of you or something.

The language was over the top in terms of inflammatory-ness. I guess we should all remember to critique in a positive fashion, no matter your most base emotional response to the map.

I feel I just have to ask...WHY? I mean, what's the point? I guess editing Orange x is good mapping practice, but beyond that I see no reason to release yet another version. Orange x isn't even a good map by TF2 standards in the first place. :<

Just making another one of those Orange X maps should constitute a ban.
