First off: I'm going to have a nag at zpqrei and zeewler because they didn't use the download database to upload their files and an extra nag at zpqrei for uploading the vmf and bsp seperately.
Secondly: zweeler's entry hasn't been included due to a lack of the garage door, wich was one of (very few) requirements, Shadowfield has also had his entry removed from voting due to a lack of respawnroom brush to prevent death (I was unsure of which team the room was for(blue trim but red proops) so I tried both teams, both died on classchange.
Thirdly:A nag at psyphil for using custom textures and not using pakrat! what were you thinking!
And lastly on the negatives: Unfortunatly forthex has not been included in the voting because he posted screenshots in the upload thread but no link to the download????

Damn, so I get disqualified cause people die when they switch class? That sucks. Can people still check mine out cause it looks really cool, and I'm guessing it's too late to fix that little problem.

It was one of the four very clearly stated rules, and yes, its too late. But your map is included in the bundle of maps I uploaded for people to download.

I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to protest your decision to leave me out of the voting.

If you look at my screen shot post, I clearly say the files I uploaded "are in the files list", and I uploaded to TF2map.net a zip file containing my bsp and vmf which has, from the moment I write this has been downloaded 6 times, so SOME people know where to look.

You didn't post any link to your map in the upload thread like you were told to, so you didn't submit your entry right. Thus I stand by my decision.

I have to agree with Youme here, rules are rules. I myself used garage doors when I thought that grates would have been better suited. And Forthex, I'm sorry but not posting a link with your screenshots, and instead expecting people to go look for your map themselves (something which I personnally did), is either being very oblivious or very lazy.

There was no mention of having to post a link. If I was in Forthex's position, I could easily assume that telling people where to find the files would count as submitting them. In this case, the meaning of "to submit" can be anything you make it, so I say words are just as good as a URL.

oh, this is gonna be tough to decide, lots of good entries. anyway. I'm going with snipergen on this one. Youme's #2 feels closest to a valve thing for me.

Darn, the missile silo isn't very apparent in my first picture, I spent so much time on it.

I wouldn't worry about the pictures as much. People should be grading these based on a run through of the .bsp in game. I know I plan to run through every entry this evening before making a choice.

Hmmz, I think I also didn't have enough time to read rules then :P. But it's a part of the spawn I use in my pl map, and it doesn't have a garage door ;)

I will post my WIP when my b1 is ready ;) (2-3 weeks)

Some really cool maps! Tons of neat little tricks, I learned something from each one. Good work everybody!

One thing I have to say is, naming conventions...? Just by loading the map, I can't tell who made the map, therefore I don't know who to vote for. Sure I could find out, I'm just saying....

Voted for apom_plasma_spawn, innovative and well detailed. Runner ups were flesh golem's respawn, the silo respawn, and nineaxis's respawn.

Also, Snipergen's resupply and garage door did not work for either class. Was it just me that had that problem? I thought it was in the rules that those worked...

I disqualified two people because they didn't have key things and you told me you'd got them working after they were found to be unusable, even your post says you updated it...:mad:

Snipergen's voting bar has regretably gone, rules are rules I'm afraid (and you were even told before the deadline unlike the others)

I'm unsure of Fatony, Mralbobo and WWJD's ability to vote again, if any of them find that they can't vote for another entry simply make a post with the name of the entry you wish to vote for and I'll add that in when the winner is announced.

I know mine's been disqualified from the contest, but can you guys take a quick look at it? It's not incredibly detailed, but I spent a lot of time doing the brushwork. It's not a conventional TF2 spawnroom, but it's definitely worth a look. Tell me what you guys think.

The pics of shadowfield's remind me of a starship command deck.
Checking it out, the brush work is pretty sweet, and it definitely feels like a starship that maybe crash landed in the forest.
Colors are a bit strange, I feel like this is green base? Just make sure that your prop's skins match the color of the textures, and it'll look great :)

Ya, it would be interesting to have a whole sort of forest complex, with this as the last stage. I just had inspiration, and made it into a spawn room for the contest.

I suggest two rounds of voting. When you have this many choices it spreads the votes so thin it's best to take the top three or so and have everyone pick from those again.

I have it in my .zip version.

I did liked Arkosis spawn room as well, it was on my 'to vote for' list. But what gave it a bit of a negative point was the area around the rocket itself, which I felt could have been better, maybe even as a cylinder shape rather than a box. Also the small coffee room just before the exit door, I didn't feel the doors were necessary, actually.

I'm sorry! :blushing: I was going to Rome and uploaded everything just before we left, knowing I wouldn't be back before the deadline.

Tbh I'm glad I even managed to get it done before my trip.
