How about contacting the Control Point Community, i think it´s the best way to get the message out
They can give us a shoutout and link to mappack, give us their view
# Email: cp@deadworkers.com
# Skype:deadworkers
# Voice Mail: 256-513-4772
Question: why does it say "Frontier A13" "Cashworks A3" etc., i thought the b2 was included in the mappack?
Plz correct that, people might not download it when they see the old version numbers
except that, nice page
That looks FANTASTIC btw, great work on that page! And same as Eerieone, Zig is final.
I sent an email to Maxconsole with that link to see if we could be featured, and possibly get some attention. They have a lot of hits per day, and this is just the sort of news they would post on, so hopefully we'll get some exposure.

um there's one tiny problem i see:
you've renamed my map. that means the cubemaps will need rebuilding.
also it's not version beta 6, it's version is 1.6a. if anything, i'd say that it's equivalent to beta 6a.
oh and i still can't download the pack cos of the "you have exceeded daily download limit" thing
also it's not version beta 6, it's version is 1.6a.
If that translates to ...._1_6a.bsp then it hasn't changed, its just the image that is wrong.

219 MB!? I dunno the bandwidth capabilities of TF2Maps, but would download mirrors or a torrent seed be needed? If this gets Delicious'd / Digg'd / Stumbled or "Steam News'd" the demands could be huge.
And to clear up any confusion, here's the file list of whats contained in the pack:

DP, this is a serious issue, no one can download it except donators and up....
When I saw that, I wondered, "Who did these guys hire to do this?"
Very nice job on the quality of the demonstration.

how about putting it up as torrent or on some free download-site?
because downloading 219mb with 30 kbit does take a while.
edit: something was wrong, downloading at full speed now

the tf2maps.net download and the mirror should max out your connection.

Ravine screenshot as the header? Seriously? For a custom payload map contest?
And green button is bad, orange would be much better for TF2. Looks great otherwise! I'll try to spread it around.
EDIT: Someone mentioned the page being dugg, might be useful to add the usual suspects' buttons in near the footer (digg, reddit, stumbleupon, facebook, etc.) to help spread the word and get the all-vital links that Google loves.

Really should be using 'bzip2' format instead of zip. As a server owner there is nothing I love more then downloading a map pack only to have to unzip and compress each file again with bzip2 so it is then compatible and the best method to use for sv_fastdownload hosts. No one wants to download an uncompressed file its slow, painful and a great way to clear a server of players and makes it harder for server owners to try your work as they gotta do more work.
If anyone wants the 'bzip2' version of each of the maps click the links below and I have also put up the zip file with all of the files in it.
Full set as single zip:
http://stats.blacktusklabs.com/maps/payload_contest_entries_full_final.zip 219M
Full set as 'tar+bzip2'
http://stats.blacktusklabs.com/maps/pl_frontier_b2.bsp.bz2 198M
Use 'tar -xjf filename.tar.bz2' to uncompress
Cashworks A3:
http://stats.blacktusklabs.com/maps/pl_cashworks_b2.bsp.bz2 44M
Zig B7:
http://stats.blacktusklabs.com/maps/pl_zig.bsp.bz2 44M
Repository B6:
http://stats.blacktusklabs.com/maps/pl_repository_b6.bsp.bz2 13M
Stovepipe B3:
http://stats.blacktusklabs.com/maps/pl_stovepipe_b3.bsp.bz2 15M
Halfacre B3:
http://stats.blacktusklabs.com/maps/pl_halfacre_rc.bsp.bz2 25M
Reservoir B6:
http://stats.blacktusklabs.com/maps/pl_reservoir_1_6a.bsp.bz2 8.2M
Vipers Den B1:
http://stats.blacktusklabs.com/maps/pl_vipersden_b1.bsp.bz2 4.5M
Tranquility A1:
http://stats.blacktusklabs.com/maps/pl_tranquility_alpha1.bsp.bz2 6.5M
Frontier A13:
http://stats.blacktusklabs.com/maps/pl_frontier_b2.bsp.bz2 40M
Server owners can wget the links above and save the *.bzip2 file on your sv_fastdownload host for immediate play and downloads.

Ya about the header image it was the only one i could find that had the quality and "look" i needed it to have, map aside. I went with Orange the first go however it just didn't "feel" right i don't know... Green however although a little out of place rings in peoples heads as "download" and wanted it to stand out in a busy page.
I updated all the names **SORRY!!!** using Brandished's post here Map names (http://forums.tf2maps.net/showpost.php?p=47794&postcount=9)
I haven't heard from Maxconsole either...I would have thought for sure this would be something they'd post about. They were excited when Portal: Prelude came out. They don't just do console gaming, so I figured we'd have a shot.
i got a response from the guys over at control point. they will be mentioning it soon.

Why include the version of the map at all? Just say "cashworks", "zig", "repository", etc.
Also might want to include a max-compression 7zip mirror, so the people who have 7zip can help save your bandwidth.
EDIT: The map pack is now linked on the front page of teamfortress2fort.com

Some people; like me; want to continue improving the map after the contest.
If you already named the map pl_repository; you can't release the map later under the same name without people getting mapname conflicts.

That would be no problem as long as the other admins agree. We could host it on our other 32 slot server tf2.festersplace.com:27019 or 81.19.209.142:27019 if u prefer ip. Pm your ideal setup and Fester Del and myself will discuss it. Im all for expanding and testing new ideas for the good of the game. We have been hosting some of your maps for a while and would love some direct input to make the game better. Just to let us know your required setup:
Server is hosted by Killer Creations in the uk
Dedicated amd 6000+ / 2gb ddr2 / Raid0 raptors / unlimited tier1 connection / Fast DL server / Running 2x 32 tf2 / 6 slot bball 24-7 / 2x l4d / hlstats communty ed / website.
Never over 60% load with all servers full.
Lets talk :)
