...why the lighting isn't casting lights and shadows into this room?
I have an env_cubemap, and a spotlight setup (yes, a real light entity placed under the actual prop).
I have RAD (in fact, all three) setting on Normal when I "Run Map".
So why do I get generic lighting without shadows, etc.?

Thanks. I really appreciate it. I'm trying to recreate a hybrid of Spaced Out and SpaceBowl and I've never had this type of issue come up. It's so weird.

I'm d/ling now, but a couple things come to find. Is mat_fullbright on? What entity are you using for the light under the lamp?

mat_fullbright ???
The light under the lamp is a light_spot entity. Facing downwards.

Got it. Your maximum distance is set to zero >.< This is the distance the light is allowed to cast. Without, it's like your light doesn't exist at all, which is why the map is fully bright (default when no lights detected). You should also consider increasing the brightness. light_spot is pretty weak by itself.
