You kept the vents :P
The map looks great, I am excited about this one.

yeah... those are actually the same screenshots from the previous thread :P. There's actually a lot of things in those screenshots I've fixed, those aren't up to date (texture errors/ place holder textures for areas I hadn't worked on yet).

But yeah I did keep the vents for now.

It would make sense to post updated screenshots for your update thread. We can't help you out if you don't post evidence of your progress.

This was more just an announcement, and I moved the screenshots over since this is where I'm going to post news from now on.

Also the changes really aren't significant enough to warrant changing the screenshot. What you see there is more or less what it looks like.

THis screenshot looks a bit too "full" or too heavy. I think it would be good to detail it in an other manner or remove some details.

The rest looks good man.

Thanks.

I wonder if it isn't the vent system that's making everyone have that reaction to the room. A couple people have approached me with that comment.

I believe there's a smaller set of vents, so you probably wouldn't need to remove them completely.

Well the smaller set doesn't have corners. It's just straight.

Lookin good!

I would add some more detail in the middle crossover area on the walls & ceiling/roof areas.

Either support, different textured brushes, or something. Just looks a little bland on the big areas.

Also i cant tell if u displaced the walls or ceiling a little or at all yet. But i would make the ceiling especially drastic to make it more dramatic and look like the inside of a cave. Looks a little too human and boxy right now, same with the sides or cliffs.

Overall it looks really good and Im excited to see the final product!

Thanks :)

Yeah the crossover canal is one of the main areas I intend on coming back through and touching up huge in a future beta.

They ARE displaced, but I only put some basic noise in until I wanted to get the shape decided. Then I decided to just come back and hit that in a future beta since I'm really more stoked about the bases and hate doing natural rock formations :P

Just an update. I got really busy here for a bit but I am going to have some time this weekend to really sit down and seriously work on it. I'll have some screenshots tomorrow of some of red's base and I'm HOPING to have the map released to beta one before February 9th. I've given myself a LOT of room on that so I'm anticipating the first beta being released sooner, but my life has been remarkably unpredictable lately in how long things take me. Thanks for your patience and putting up with my inaccurate release dates :P

More up to date of Red's main area

Still have to go through and add support beams to the walls but other than that it's more or less done.

Wow that looks nice, good job on it!

Looks good, I loved the original. My only complaint is the wooden hand rails look a bit uniform and generic, you could really use a prop on those.

Hi,

Just announcing that tomorrow Crossover2 will be going into Beta one. It's not going to be a public release as there are still some things I want to get done before I do an official public release (like finish Red's base exterior :blushing:). I do want to get some feedback on what I have done and see it played a little bit so I'd like to release it to a few specific servers.

I know a couple people expressed interest in helping me test it so if you would be so kind as to PM me some contact information so I can email the map to you when it's ready I'd appreciate it.

I also have a variety of messengers so let me know if you'd rather do it through MSN or something.

Thanks!
