I'm having an issue with water that i cannot figure out. I'm new to mapping so I have no doubt that I am doing something wrong. I cant explain what is going on so I'm going to post some screenshots. What am I to do?

This shot is me under water looking up, I can see other parts of the map thru the water surface.

Similar to the first shot except I am out of the water and can see through the walls underneath in a hidden room. The water itself is all fuzzy and whack.

You have a leak. Post compile log and your .vmf.

And about your map: you are using hl2 textures and hl2 decals...... Don't do that.

I think I found the leak and fixed it. A lot of the water is good now but there are still several areas where the problem exists. As for the textures, I'll start switching them over to TF2 ones that I can find. Thanks for letting me know :)

Here is the compile log and .vmf file zipped up:

When you search for textures if your looking for glass from tf2 or other quite generic things it can often be hard to tell which is tf2 and which you have seen in game and which you haven't so type what you want in the texture search box as normal (wood, glass, metal etc) then in the box under that, keywords i believe it is. Type tf2 and you get only tf2 textures, enjoy

Actually, only put "tf" in the keywords field, as "tf2" will yield you nothing.

ahhh nice. That makes things a lot easier. TF2 really doesn't have many textures. :/ Thanks for pointing out the filter :)
