I think everybody knows here fps banana. My map is als on that site.
But its totally bullshit that site reviews of maps are in my view 50% fake.
Here look to this map http://www.fpsbanana.com/maps/44759
it is warpath the guy just copied the original map and placed some very ugly textures on it he also placed random models on keypoints the tracks he use are not connected because it did not fitted.
The rock textures is the ugliest one tf2 has.
And what kind of reviews he get a 9.9/10 and like 2 pages of replies in 10 hour. with most of them cons none...

And the thing is if you go to fps banana and bash the mapper that ripped that warpath map there gonna bash your map, even if it is much better.
And the biggest problem is lots of poeple use fps banana to find maps....

I agree on the BS involved. If he did rip the map i would contact the admin of the site, prove to him you had the exact same map *few differences* released before that one came out, they shouldn't have a problem with taking it down.
*could also land that user(s) a perma-ban as well, Ripping/stealing is not taken easy on any site*

I personally never liked FPSB, nothing agaisnt them though, its their user base, it just reminds me of everything i hate in a map. they like orange texture/surf/box room/unbalanced gameplay ETC and the good maps get lost because they cant setup a turret that will kill the whole team *rant*

I'm not a fan of the design of the site. It takes a lot of searching around to find good maps and just navigating is more difficult than it should be. However, there is some good stuff there if you're willing to look for it. Though I don't think I'll be joining the site to post any of my work. I may change my mind, but at the moment that's where I stand.

If they rate your map badly because you bashed one map of their happy few, then don't comment anymore on bad maps, only praise the well-dones.
In that case, not commenting is your way to say it is a bad map. You know it, I know it, they don't (as they are morons) and they don't bash your map anymore.

I know I sound like a shrink, but I use it in real life too. I (also?) tend to say things without thinking. Sometimes you need to count to 10 and that mostly helps.

I never comment EVER, unless it's to praise a map. It's how the internet works, people are dickheads, and if you speak ill to anything you best expect some sophomoric form of retribution. (Typically in the form of down-voting.)

PS: If you really want to speak on someones submission just make some alt account so you don't have to worry about your name or maps being dragged through the e-mud.

when i submitted a beta some one bashed my map and shouted it was laggy as hell gave me a 3/10.
The problem was not my map but himself after i pm him he removed his comment.
Of the first 4 maps are 3 orange maps and there is even a fullbright in it :S (hmm it seems like this is not the top rated ones but why are they then in the top 4?)

What you could always do is just make a seperate account to do your bashing :)

That will work indeed quite nice, till they start logging ip's :)

Nah, I just only register and be active on forums that I like. Which means I'm active at 2 at the moment (which is a compliment to the communities of tf2maps.net and www.classic-trash.com)
