View Full Version : Model [request] Lab equipment

I'd like some lab equipment models. Just various beakers, tubes, bunsen burners, vials, etc. These pictures are for reference, they don't necessarily have to look exactly like these.

Also, in particular check out the third screenshot. I'd like a metal support thing that they hang tubes and other equipment off of.

This is TF2 so feel free to make some crazy designs (like in the second screenshot).

here's a pic of a bunsen burner. The pic doesn't really show it, but on this model I'd also like the rubber tube coming out of it to lay across a table top.

One other thing, for those interested. I'd prefer the models to be a few clusters of objects, as well as each object in a seperate model. Also, The metal support thing and all the stuff attached should be one model.

Thanks!

This looks like fun... I might try to make a couple...

Starting with the bunsen.

ABSURD NECROBUMP.

I totally need these right now. Did anything come of this?

This is absurd.

(and no, nothing ever became of this)

Haha, well figured it's better to necrobump then to make a new thread. Or maybe not? I dunno. :P Was kinda hoping that someone had made something from this.

Necrobumps occasionally work. Just been playing with the bunsen burner idea. this of any use to you?

Fuck everything all the time

EDIT: if anyone finds a good (non-shit) method of getting glass props to look nice, tell me. I need to know.

I will shave a dolphin for either one of those models.

You have to make the glass color more grey if you're using $additive. And add a phong shader as well.

I took reflections off to take the picture, but they're there. Now onto glass beakers.

There really should be a tutorial for TF2 models:

"My model doesn't look good"
Step 1: enable phong.

Working on the clamps, but I can't get them to look right atm.

I had trouble making the buret clamp look right, so I tried a boss and clamp pair.

The cylinder is just for size (imagine a test tube there instead).

Still not happy with that. I could make it more detailed, but in turn increase the vertices and faces quite substantially (its already pretty complex for the size, 402 polys for the boss and clamp).
