View Full Version : The greatest snack of all time

My father shared this with my brother and I, figured the time has come to pass it on. To start, set your oven to broil. Now get out a small sheet of tin foil, and place two pieces of bread upon it. On the bread, add a few cuts of choice veggies; onion, green pepper, etc. Stuff that does well when turned crispy. Now over the veggies, on each bread, add a thin layer of ground beef. Emphasis on the word thin. The thicker your patty, the longer it will take to cook. Now season as you desire. I prefer coarse black pepper with a dash of ginger. Stick it in the oven and let it sit for 1.5 minuetes, 3.5 at the most.

And voila! There are several things that make this snack especially tasty. The main one is the time required. But more subtle is the fact that the sudden intense heat will melt off most of the fat and good stuff, which is absorbed by the bread. If you don't have a timer, just wait until the crust starts to turn black. Try it. I guarantee that the time needed will make this the greatest snack you've ever had. As a side note- don't forget to turn off your oven. Also the tinfoil can be picked up at the edges with your bare hands. Enjoy!

LOL!!! Frikandel speciaal met een patatje!
Oh man, you almost make me start running to the nearest snackbar...

@Immortal-D : I'll try it, but I've first have to translate all the ingredients. That is a kind of English I don't use/practice much :)

Hmm, what rack? also 1.5-3 minutes doesnt seem long enough to cook any meats.

That's why you set your oven to broil at the very start. By the time you've made the sandwhich, it should be fully heated. If it's not cooked in time, either your oven is really weak, or the patty is too thick.
