Back to the drawing board!
Once upon a time when I was a younger man I had the ability to draw. I drew all manner of things, but being young and impressionable I drew silly Mega Man and Ninja Turtle scenes. What I wouldn't give to have just one of those pieces of art now.
In any event, I am truly back to the drawing board. I have started drawing once more. Mostly just doodles, but starting to feel the old magic once again.
I stopped drawing long ago because I just got bored with it. Now I am looking forward to reawakening my excitement for drawing and coming up with some cool conceptual art. Well, in keeping with my 'starting small' blog from last week, here is a concept for my next building (which is almost completed btw).

This drawing was done in ink while bored at work. I scanned it and added the color with Photoshop Elements. Nothing fancy on the color, just enough to convey what things should look like.
In other news, I just finished reading Phil Co's Level Design for Games. I highly recommend it for anyone getting started in level design or even if you are curious about the process a game goes through before it's shipped. Phil Co does a great job of giving you this process through the eyes of the level designer. For those of you who have read it, any recommendation for what to read next? For those interested in the book, here's a link:Level Design for Games: Creating Compelling Game Experiences (New Riders Games) (Paperback)
Now playing: Psychonauts XBOX, Timeshift PC, Advance Wars DS, trying to finish Factions in Guild Wars, and of course TF2
Now reading: DragonLance Legends Vol 3: Test of the Twins, and just finished Level Design for Games by Phil Co
Random TF2 screenshot: Chaotic Evil Medic!
