Planning either a 3-CP or 5-CP map not sure which yet, but its going to be the in Swamp theme from the lovely people at TF2Maps here!
Don't really like the desert theme that much (:O:O) so probably be doing maps in other themes generally.

Anyway here are a couple in-hammer shots for you guys, and peace.

A small village named Kuriast is being raided by the Blu army, and the Red soldiers must defend! This map is an attack/defend capture point map with two capture points in medieval/highlander mode. If Blu does not capture point B in 60 seconds it will become locked again and point A will be reverted back to Red control. Includes a navigation mesh for testing with bots. I've been working hard on this, so I hope you enjoy. If you find any bugs/problems not listed below, please tell me. Comments/questions/concerns are always appreciated.
I have not tested the map with only human players, so the map may be unbalanced.

Known bugs/problems:

Odd shadowing on a few brushes and props.

Bots tend to get stuck in areas.

Engineer bots especially usually stays near the spawn room.

Credits:

Korpor4l - Creating map

cp_degrootkeep - Constant reference

Also, pictures may be a little outdated, but the style still has stood the same.

Ever wanted a map where the main goal was to kill people but wanted some sort of objective and spawns NOT directly in front of each other?

Well look no further!

Introducing koth_pit! A map that takes place in a huge hole with a 10-min timer and spawn that are actually apart from each other. :O

Plus, as an added bonus, we've included an easter egg in the spawn rooms!

So download now! :P

--------------------------------------------------

Anyways, this is my first tf2 map. It was the product of me playing around with entities and lighting for two months now. Any criticism would be greatly appreciated. ;)

Water under the point
Nodraw the textures that aren't seen by players
Divide the inside of the main building into seperate rooms

My first post to this forum, and my first map. So far, it's just the basic brushwork, what it needs to function, lighting, and two soundscapes. I've tested with bots and it has functioned fine, so if you have the time, could you run around the map and answer these questions?

1. What class(es) do you think this map is friendly or unfriendly towards?

2. What brushwork should I add or remove? Should I add more cover? (I'm planning on adding a few "houses" in the large flat area)

3. Should I move the spawns or flags? If so, should it be in new brushwork?

Hi fans!
The screenshots that you can see on the left side, present my first attempt to create my own TF2 map.
It's been several years ago, that I had the idea to rebuild a little old North German farm called Schaapsen (in Germany between Hannover and Bremen) in the digital world, just for fun of cause!
Having some experience with the Hammer Editor in the past, I build a CS:S and two Portal 1 maps. But that happened already years ago, and I wasn't t quiet sure, if it would work out this time.
Nevertheless, it turned out to be much more complicated to settle this landscape (I lived there during my childhood for about ten years), into a TF2 koth map, than I thought!
Meanwhile, after four month of work, I'm mapping and using every free hour on map updates, so that the rendering now takes up to 5,5 hours each time.
Still, with a lot of work to do, and many options to take into consideration, I'm enjoying this journey into my own past! I'm not quiet sure where this experiment will take me, but I'll keep you informed from time to time.

Till' the day we will play this together... - cheers and thanks for comments and ... however!

Making of koth_schaapsen on youtube:

In Lockdown, the doors around the point open and close depending on who owns it. Defenders are funnelled through the large main doors and most of their side routes are lengthened, whereas the attacker's main route is closed and all of their side routes are shortened.

I mostly made this to try to kick my habit of not testing things early in development, which has been very detrimental to many of my projects, my Dynamic Payload contest included.

Thanks:

ABS for the gametype library

Hey guys! I've played Team Fortress 2 since release, but I've only recently gotten into mapping for it. I'm going against the rules and releasing my first map. I started learning how to map around February with this map and built onto it until it made an actual map. Since I started with this map, it had a very rickety foundation, so overall it was a very sloppy map that I just wanted to get over with.
arena_windmill is meant to be an extremely fast paced arena map with a unique sense behind it. I suggest playing with no more than 16 people, but any amount will work. I think that this map is unique because the focal point of it isn't necessarily the capture point, and there's a large amount of health packs.
Mapping was a lot of fun and this community seems very friendly and professional, so I hope I can keep contributing. Thanks! :)

Story
By a wild coincidence both teams have broken down on either side of the same train station in the middle of nowhere. Carrying super secret supply shipments of deadly cargo, they intend on eliminating each other and must move their payloads through the train station and drop it on top of the other team’s truck.

Goal
Players will help their teammates carry their payload across the map, through the train station, and to the enemy convoy. They win simply by being the first to carry their bomb to the other side of the map.
