Is this something that you guys are going to keep giving as future mappers continue to arrive and make great maps?

No, this will be given out more in the future. If someone makes a notable contribution to the mapping community or takes a top 3 spot in any of our MAJOR contests, they will recieve one.

Also, the mappers medallion is in game, and if you are on my list, and you steam ID is linked to your TF2Maps.net account, you should have the medal. if you don't have the medal, and entered the artpass, please PM me (much like star)

When I emailed valve back about the medal I told them the guy who made the description should get a payraise.

Lol, regardless of the context I find this hilarious. Nothing says "I care about your work" like needing to fill out the corner of a grid.

On the other hand, given that all but two of the artpass maps became completely obsolete, if yours filled out a grid it probably accomplished more than any of the others. For that I think you deserve a medal more than anyone else.

Funny thing is, that page isn't even up anymore (or I'd have linked to it by now). The page announcing the contest is still there, but the one showcasing the entries isn't.

Well if you really want one, then just place 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in any of the upcoming major map contests.

If you're anything like me, they'll creep up on you and everyone will be half-done before you even realise there's a contest going on.

But until then, no. You can not get it. (and how you went through 3.4k hrs of TF2 and 700hrs of SDK and didn't know about the contests is beyond me)

That guy basically did the same thing with Ronin and his items. He gave Ronin a HOUWAR in exchange for credit for an item he didn't even make.
