actually like what i said.. on my previously comment. That a alpine evening would be amazing. Actually there is just one part of it. Actually making new versions of the skybox

Looks good and seems to be a good idea.
I would enjoy having a theme like in meet the engineer only alpine theme and lighter.
Then again im listening to wii sports golf music so that might have a effect.

Looks like he just used the sky cards, so that would be really difficult to do.

Lasso Tool (Maybe magic wand) > Duplicate each tree section to an individual layer > Adjust to your heart's content.

Looks okay so far. Note however, there is a noticeable white smudge in the first screen (where the top of the dark purple mountain is).

I think valve set it to be mist or a fine cloud or so. *shrugs*

You mean using lasso tool? but lasso isn't a tool of photoshop or something because i used gimp to make this custom skybox
