Default Multiple Skyboxes?

I'm working on a map with seperate areas and was wondering how I can make the map have multiple skybox textures. If I apply the skybox texture in map properties it will only use that one and if I use the actual textures on all 6 walls then you can see the skybox through walls etc.

Any ideas?

I think you need to make a custom skybox where you can mix two skyboxes together.

You can't make the skybox change texture, if that's what you mean... sorry

Not so much as have it change no. Basically I have multiple parts to my map.

Part 1: Is outside and uses the Goldrush skybox
Part 2: Is outside again but in a different place and I want this area to show the night skybox

I dont know how much experience you have with modeling and whatnot, but you could always make a skydome model and apply a texture to that.
2 problems with this though, its not a sky'box' so the textures in tf2 wont work, and another is its a model, which is kind of hard to get into source if its your first time.

i guess you could write your own vmt for the sky textures that acts as a simple texture

I've given that a go but it keeps just showing up as black when I put it on the walls. This is the skybox i'm looking to use: http://forums.tf2maps.net/showthread.php?t=11194

What would I need to stick in the VMT to make it work? I copied one of the Brickwall VMTs and just changed the filepath but still shows as black.

Edit Nevermind I solved it. Had to adjust settings in the VTF as well!

How did using a custom texture as the sky look as opposed to using the skybox texture? I know that the skybox texture projects light from it so how did you mimic that effect? Also, i think you can have multiple shadow controllers and env_sun's so that would help the texture look like a skybox.
