Don't know, maybe you're angry because I got some votes already, didn't look yours up, but I didn't vote for myself, I didn't vote at all, as already written.

If you don't believe it, I'm sure Youme can look it up, so stop trolling now.

Yeah, it didn't occur to me until I was looking through everyone's entries that I only made one route to the intel. Doh! Practice makes perfect I suppose.

@ Nameless: Dictionary.com says: "Plugging - Informal. to mention (something) favorably, as in a lecture, radio show, etc.: He says he will appear if he can plug his new TV series."

I meant you were asking for votes. Didn't imply you voted for yourself. BTW, I feel your pain man. This will be a tough competition to win. Lots of good entries.

If only our server events were this popular However, we now have prefab spawns and intel rooms All we need is a couple more contests to make prefab bridge/crossing area and 1 room of a main base. Then we could hold a major contest, "Who can make the best map using a combination of prefabs."

Got lots of votes. But as you read through almost everyones post, they were based on screenshots. I cant speak for everyone, but I know most the new things I tried had nothing to do with what can be captured in a screenshot.

And with that...

I want to thank those that took the time to look through all the maps.

The other problem is that people voted based on unequal criteria. I have asked twice now for criteria to be posted about how the maps should be evaluated...and nothing.

Vander posted what his/her critera was and some scaling of the few top maps.

(for those thinking that im bitching because i am not winning...i wouldnt vote for my map from the list anyways, theres others that are much better quality)

I knew lighting would be my downfall...guess it's off to the tuts I go...

Also on terms of unequal voting practices...

Several entries (including myself) attached a fly/walk-through video which I think shows off the basic idea of the maps nicely. This way mappers could have their map seen the way they seem as best, and the viewers wouldn't have to go through the trouble of downloading and loading up dozens of entries. Videos aren't that hard to make...

My voting was based strictly off of detailing--because in the rules thread it was made clear the competition was about detailing...functionality has nothing to do with this competition. Therefore, I didn't count off for things like bad frame rate, cubemaps (even though building them correctly isn't hard, and looks poorly if you don't fix them), optimization, etc. I voted for the entry I thought looked the best, and I was honest about it. Having said that, I think the lack of voting criteria caused people to vote against maps for functionality issues, like the cubemaps thing--when the rules clearly stated that functionality was not a requirement. Just the little things that peeve people off.

All that aside, I'm excited to see what Monday's competition announcement is...ctf map maybe? Would make sense I think.
