Default Louder Sounds


I've recently been making maps with sound in them but when I walk up to the sounds they are extremely quiet. I have seen maps with super loud sounds but I'm not sure how to make them that loud. I don't think I can make the volume higher since the entity information says 10 is the highest it goes and it's still quiet when I set it to 10. Can anyone tell me how to make my sounds much, much louder?

Either your radius is too small so the attenuation is short, or you can try placing multiple entities so that the sound plays over itself more than once. I've done the latter several times and have never noticed any sync issues.

For environmental sounds you want to use soundscapes, not point sound entities

The downside to placing layered ambient_generic is that, when played, it will give players with lower-end computers some lag issues.

Something to keep in mind.

Or you could just boost the loudness of the sound in an audio editor.

Boosting the audio levels will work too- but anything peaking over 20db will distort badly.
